Sierra CCW began after it became apparent that real-world CCW instruction was lacking from the Sierra/Truckee/Lake Tahoe region. The State of California requires applicants to complete a course of instruction when applying for an original or renewal CCW permit. Sierra CCW takes students through the CCW application process, and presents the most important information available to CCW applicants on a multitude of topics that every CCW holder will want to know while carrying.
We recognize there are many "instructors" out there who refuse to, or are unable to, provide students with any useful information about CCW carry. At Sierra CCW, we believe up-to-date information and proven techniques can better prepare students to handle potentially life-threatening situations, and to improve their experience with the ownership, use, and carrying of firearms.
